The summer is a great time to rest and reflect - to consider how your year is progressing and look ahead to see how you will accelerate your performance to make this your best year yet. One thing that many of us begin to realise during this introspective time is that we may not be making the most of our knowledge and resources. As the Zen saying goes, “To know and not do is not yet to know“. One of the things that distinguishes XL Nation citizens from members of other positive-minded networking organisations, aside from our values and Purpose, is our language of Wealth Dynamics!

It’s this language of flow that sets us apart from a typical organisation - we have at our grasp the ability to get others around us into flow - and thereby be in flow. To do this, we must constantly review how we are spending and investing our time and how we are providing value to others so that they can leverage it. But celebrating these National holidays made me remember what folds all of us together - our Declaration of Interdependence! This is a unique document - because it highlights how we are not a world of independent nations - but rather a global community that must work in co-operation to fulfil our grandest visions for the world, initially expressed through Vision 2020. Hello XL Nation members! Are you in Flow? One of the foundation principles of being a Citizen of XL Nation is that you are living and using the principles of Wealth Dynamics to be in flow in your business, in your projects and in your personal life.

You may remember from Roger Hamilton’s book Wink that the trick to accelerating progress is to ask better questions. On the Talent Dynamics training this week led by Michelle Clarke and Jan Polak, I was reminded of a critical question I have often failed to ask which serves to get myself and others into flow: “How can I add greater value to you/the organisation?” Being in flow is not something one does in isolation (on your own) but rather with respect to another! Water only flows when it is moving from A to B. Similarly, you only get into flow when you get others into flow. And a great question to ask yourself (or even them directly) is “How can I add more value to you/the organisation?” The point? It is all about effective giving!

Now - it is important as you engage in your inquiry with others that you explore what Value you can bring that will be Leveraged! This is important! I am a powerful, effective public speaker and communicator. Let’s say I go to Acme company and offer my talents. Acme is a new company that sells widgets through internet marketing. They may like what I have to offer, but my talent is of little consequence and benefit to the organisation unless they have a “stage” and need for me to speak. So whilst I might bring amazing value and experience to the table, it cannot be readily leveraged. Therefore, it provides very little real ability to improve the flow in Acme’s organisation - and this is the crux of the inquiry. You must add value in a way that increases the flow of the business/organisation/partnership/relationship you are in.

So, I invite you to explore where you, your project, and/or your business can add greater (leverageable) value to your customers, partners and colleagues! And watch the flow accelerate! I would love to hear the results you are producing putting this idea into practice on our Facebook page and any other breakthroughs you are causing in those critical areas of your life.

XL Melbourne’s Charity Day on the Bay for Sukrupa
Sitting around a magnificent table is a beautiful mansion, XL Melbourne members, sated with food, basked in that magnificent feeling that comes from “Making a Difference”. After months of planning, we had just raised enough money for 10 more Indian children who live in a slum, to go to the Sukrupa school, be fed and participate in after school sport and activities. These are things our own kids take for granted.

The families that followed Derek and Carol’s instructions on the car rally, all of us who had feasted on the wonderful food, the children who had run around in egg and spoon races and everyone who had donated or bought auction items, felt very honoured and proud of what we had achieved. Each of us imagined how those children would react and the flow on effects to their families, their children and their children that this opportunity of education would provide.

We discussed how the car rally route had helped us learn a bit more about the history and environmental treasures in the area. The kids games had included some of the same games children in India play.

As XL members we were truly connected and expressed how “this was what XL and 2020 vision was all about” and “this is why we joined XL” . Some of our auction items did not sell and before the day had even ended, XL Melbourne was already planning another auction to sell those items and much, much more.

At each of our XL Melbourne meetings we state our mission:

The XL Melbourne Circle is a community of social entrepreneurs that supports and encourages the growth of its members in order to make a meaningful, measurable contribution. By 2020, the goal of XL Nation is to have reached $1 billion of new wealth created annually, with $100 million being contributed and leveraged to end poverty and environmental degeneration.

On that day in April we lived it and felt it.

Exciting times for Changemakers to connect & A fantastic Day for XL Melbourne

Hello XL Nation members! This has been an exciting month. We had our first Changemakers’ Connect which was a great opportunity to connect members from around the globe. XL Nation has also begun to increase its presence and vitality in the online community – using Facebook and a new social media platform called Empire Avenue. Now why is this Empire Avenue game interesting? Well, I’m not much into games – and I’m one of those people that blocks gaming applications on Facebook (and occasionally even friends that invite me persistently).

As such, when Michael Q Todd, our resident XL Nation social media guru, posted links to Enterprise Avenue – I was thinking, “yeah right, another game… whatever”. Thanks to Michael’s insistence, I checked it out – and it turns out that this is a great way for XL Nation and its citizens to connect with others around the globe – and to create awareness and attraction for World Wide Wealth – and all we stand for! As a result, XL Nation is literally the fastest rising SITE on the platform! This is great for our visibility – and great for what we are standing for!

So what’s the moral of this story? Well, I say give it a try – and see what new connections you can make within XL Nation – your trusted network of contacts – and beyond. It’s fun – but be careful – for some it’s a bit too much fun

It’s Spring time – a moment for renewal, planting new seeds and fostering growth in our businesses, wealth and networks! Publishing the bi-weekly newsletters, handling XL Nation queries, and supporting our citizens around the globe on a daily basis is a very tall order and is done by our XL Nation Administrator. Emily West-Sadler has worked as our Administrator for over a year and has done a wonderful job! With her support, XL Nation has released and maintained a regular Newsletter to connect to its members, had a successful National Day, and has served our growing membership reliably. Em has brought her energy and commitment to our common goal of World Wide Wealth to every interaction she has had with our community. We have been very fortunate to have her on the team – and as she moves onto other equally inspiring endeavours, we wish her success and wealth - and are grateful that she is a Founding Member of our Global Nation for World Wide Wealth! Whilst we bid farewell to one team member, we welcome another - Janet Carter! Janet has joined our team with excitement and enthusiasm! With over 20 years experience in various roles she is a great believer in working at something you enjoy means it is “effortless effort”, enabling better results and happier people.

Janet herself works on building relationships, getting people to work together and utilises her love of networking, referrals, media and more recently social media to create trust and strength in your brand.
